How to play - Guidelines

 

Thank you for choosing to play the Stock Futures Trading Simulation Game. The following guidelines have been provided to help you get started.

   

Start with £25,000
Once you have registered, you will be credited with a fictitious account balance of £25,000 to start the Stock Futures Trading Simulation Game. The Stock Futures Trading Simulation Game is based on real-time prices from NYSE Liffe so you will be able to see the latest trades, bids and offers for all Stock Futures.

   

Functional only when markets are open
The Stock Futures Trading Simulation Game will only be functional when the NYSE Liffe market is open.

   

Total worth shown on the P&L page will appreciate/depreciate depending on your trades
Your total worth for the Stock Futures Trading Simulation Game will appreciate or depreciate depending on any trades executed by you. If your total worth falls to zero you will be able to reset your account and recommence your position at £25,000. Similarly, if at anytime during the game you wish to reset your account, previous portfolio details will be erased and you can recommence your position at £25,000.

   

Limits
You will be able to enter Market, Limit and Stop Orders into the system. These orders will be transacted against the last traded bid or offer price. There is a pre-set limit on the number of lots that you can enter per trade based on your total worth.

   

View all your orders
You will be able to view resting and executed orders by looking at the  Working Orders or Filled Orders pages.

   

All transactions are recorded
All of your transactions will automatically be recorded by the Trading Simulation Game. You will be able to view a summary of your profit/loss at any time by going to the P&L page which also displays your margin requirements. Click here to see the margin requirements that apply to each of the Stock Futures available in the Trading Simulation Game.
